Tracey Tawhiao Art

For the past few weeks we have been doing artwork like Tracey Tawhiao. She is a Maori artist who uses newspaper for her art work. She finds words in the newspaper that have meaning. Then she paints over the paragraphs and then puts Maori designs over them. We did the same but chose patterns from our own culture.

I found it tricky to get my name to stick onto the paper because it wouldn't stick to the pastel. I put it out into the sun to make the glue dry quicker. I found it hard to find a piece of newspaper that had words that meant something to me.

My digital learning object shows that I can explain what I did on a google drawing.
