Camp Goals
Jungle Law
This week for reading we are learning to infer.
We read a book called The Jungle Law. We had to go to page 22 and take the paragraph and turn the words into fonts like in Geronimo Stilton books.
I found it easy to create the Google drawing. For 'slicing' I sliced the word in half. For 'tree' I did a green tr and a brown ee so it looked like a tree! For 'knife' I did silver. Can you see the other words I changed and guess why I did them like that?
Here is the Google drawing.

Letters To The Editor
Today we wrote a letter to the editor of the Gisborne Herald. We are frustrated because the council have stopped mowing down by the awa and blackberry has grown. Have you ever written to an editor before?
I found it easy to write the letter.
I found it hard to write my reflection.
Here is my letter.
St Mary’s is a Green Gold Enviroschool. We encourage native birds and insects in to our Rerenga Awa by planting native trees to provide shade. This also shades the awa so more river creatures can stay cool. But the council stopped mowing and the blackberry bushes are growing and stopping us from planting more trees. People from our school have been to see the council and used the Fix It app but still there is no response.

Apple Tree Dilemma
This week we are learning to make connections from the text to ourselves, text to text and text to world.
We had to read a book called Apple Tree Dilemma. It was about an apple tree that caused a problem with the nextdoor neighbours because they kept taking the apples and swinging on the branches when it wasn't their property.
Then we went to page 23 and compared the Dad to another character from another book. I chose Geronimo Stilton.
Hot Brownie With Cream
This week for writing, we have been learning to use imagery to describe. We had to use a simile, alliteration and juicy verbs.
It was easy for me to use a simile because we have learnt about these. It was tricky to use alliteration because I haven't used it before.
I wrote about hot brownie with cream because it's one of my favourite desserts. What is your favourite dessert or food?
Here is my piece of writing.
As I into the brownie immediately I knew it was heated to the right temperature the gooey middle oozed down my throat like tar sludging out of a funnel.
This is my success criteria
Learning Intention: We are learning to use imagery

Pop Art
Today we used a new tool called Lunapic. First we took a photo of our self. Then uploaded it to Lunapic. Next we had to choose some effects. We could choose from filters, effects and art. I chose tattoo, graffiti and flame because they looked great. I chose nouveau because I saw Morgan using it and it looked interesting.
I found it easy to choose my effects.
I've found it hard to fill out my reflection on my blog because I had to remember the steps we did.
Here is my pop art.
